Inspiration of the Week at the KCMQG

Hey, all! I just wanted to drop you a little note to let you know that my Angle quilt has been featured on the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild's blog as their Inspiration of the Week! They have regular feature on their blog where they share some awesome inspiring work. You should head on over there and check it out.

On a different note, some of you know I was born and raised in Kansas. I lived there for 26 years before my family moved to the St. Louis area 6 yeas ago. (I'll save you from doing the math... I'm 32.) In all my 26 years living in "Tornado Alley", I have never even come close to being caught in a tornado.

Well, on Friday, my family and I had a little run-in with a tornado. Actually, our home had a run-in with a tornado. My family is totally fine. While we currently can't live in our home, it is still standing. My stash "walked" away without a scratch. I have lugged my sewing machine from hotel to hotel. I think it must be my comfort item... like a teddy bear, but not as soft, and my hubby won't let me sleep with it.

I had planned on releasing another quilt pattern this week, but my plans changed a little. I do plan on getting that pattern out once we can get our computers set back up in a more permanent place. I'll still be sewing, but I'm not how much I'll be able to do, so bear with me, as my blog posts may be less regular for a while. I'll do my best do photograph my progress and keep you all updated on my many, many projects that I just happen to be in the middle of.

If you still want to keep up with me through the next few months, I tend to post everything on Instagram... probably too much! If you don't mind weeding through a few pics that are not quilting/sewing related, feel free to keep up with me there!

  1. Congratulations on the KCMQG feature! Hope it brought a bit of sunshine to your day!

  2. I am so, so sorry to hear that the storms affected you, Kyndra. That must have been terrifying. I'm glad you and your family are ok.

On a brighter note, congrats on the KCMQG feature!

  3. Kyndra, I am so sorry to hear through Hyacinth Quilts that your home (and life) has been quite devastated by one of those nasty tornados ripping through the mid-west of the States. I am up in the south west Ontario region and have watched in horror the TV reports. Take each day as it comes and try and keep your sense of humour and why won't your husband let you sleep with your sewing machine. Tch Tch! (-: Glad you found it! Take care and positive chi coming to you and your family.
