Modern Orange Peel Quilt

Modern Orange Peel
Modern Orange Peel is a quilt that I made a while back but forgot to blog. And by "a while back," I mean, like January. This is actually the second one of these I made. The first is all blues and greens. I'll get that photo on the blog soon.

I made this quilt with the fat quarters that I had left over from the QuiltCon block challenge. (You knew you recognized those colors!) It measures 36"x36" and is pieced, not appliqued. Piecing was just easier. Those big curves were a piece of cake! And the look is so clean without the raw edges or zigzag stitching it would have had if I had appliqued it. It was so fun to make that I made two. With no intended recipient. Yep. I do that. A lot.

I have had a quilts piling up for a while. It's time. It has been time for a while.... to de-quilt, like de-stashing, except with quilts. So the Modern Orange Peel quilt along with the quilts below are now listed for sale in my Etsy store. *tear* I really hope they find a loving home.

  1. Oh my goodness, I love that orange peel quilt and the argyle quilt both. I love orange peel for its simplicity and vividness...and come to think of it, that's why I like the argyle too.

  3. Curved piecing...I've not done much and it freaks me out a little. It's encouraging to hear you say it's not oh-so-bad! And that Argyle Quilt is striking!
