Pixelated Houndstooth Quilt

I released my Pixelated Houndstooth quilt pattern a couple of weeks ago, and today I'm excited to show you my original version of this quilt.

I designed and made this quilt for my brother. I have had this quilt finished since March, but because I was waiting for the right opportunity to give it to him, I haven't been able to share it with you. Well, right opportunity came up just last week- I finally was able to give this quilt to my brother as a "new dad" gift! That's right. I think new dad's need gifts too. And what's better than a quilt to snuggle up under with a new baby!

Pixelated Houndstooth in Gray
I used contrasting light and gray fabric for the houndstooth pattern and I quilted with diagonal 1-inch straight lines. It measures 56" x 72" - a good size for my tall bro.

The back of this quilt is pieced with strips of fun orange and gray fabrics. Those are my brother's favorite colors. I chose prints that are fun and a few of them have some representation of him. What I like best about this quilt is it's simple, modern design. It's definitely a "manly" quilt on the front with a much more laid back, fun look on the back.

Hmmm.... maybe I should rename it the "mullet" quilt... you know... business in the front, party in the back!

If you want to make your own Pixelated Houndstooth Quilt, the pattern is for sale in both my Etsy and Craftsy stores- just click the link on the right side bar or click on the photo below.
